"We all know that NO ONE reads those “About” sections on blogs. Seriously who does that? I wanna know! Out yourself now! Most of the “About” me sections are very generic information. Name. Personal info. How I got started blogging, etc. , but it doesn’t let you really know the author of the blog. I like to get to know people, the real people behind the blog. What makes you tick.
So I thought I should do a post doing the same. I should let you guys really know me, who am I and how I function."
Although, I have to admit that I am one of those people who reads the "about" section on blogs, apparently I'm not the norm.
So, here we go:
· I am new to the whole blog and Twitter thing. I want to be good at it, but am realizing how time consuming it is.
· I would choose a few close friends over a bunch of acquaintance-friends any day. It is important to me that relationships are real and have depth. This takes time, but the friendships that result are invaluable.
· I love to bake. When I bake, I know what the outcome will be and this makes me feel like I have some control over something in my life.
· I love reading other people's blogs. I love reading in general, but am always intrigued to read about other people’s thoughts and perceptions.
· I never, in a million years, could have dreamt that I would one day own a small business. Opening Lovable Little Tree Huggers has been both very exciting and very challenging for me. Without the support of my family and friends and especially my husband, this never would have happened.
· I use the word hate very carefully. I hate dishonesty.
· I am convinced that I am married to the most incredible man alive. People say this sort of thing all the time and I know it sounds cheesy, but it’s true. He is notperfect, but he loves me and that is enough.
· I love all things Christmas: Christmas movies, Christmas cookies, Christmas decorating. I can’t get enough of any of it.
· I am a Baptist, married to a Pentecostal, going to a Christian Reformed Church. Figure that out.
· Cloth diapering brings me joy. I love knowing that I am doing something good for the earth and for my baby.
· I am an English major. I cannot help but be bothered by poor punctuation and needless grammatical errors. At the same time, I sometimes ignore grammar and punctutation rules to make a point. I am aware that this Makes. No. Sense.
· I cannot set my alarm clock to an even number. I don’t have to set my alarm clock
anymore with a one-year-old in the house, but when I did it was set at 7:01 or 7:31, not 7:00 or 7:30. I know, weird.
· My Mom is one of my best friends. We had our share of disagreements when I was a teenager, but since I’ve been married, we’ve grown incredibly close. I don’t know what I’d do without her in my life.
· I bit my nails. I have tried to stop many, many times. When I was younger my Grandma promised me lunch dates out, manicures, and money if I would stop. I still have short, stubby nails.
· I love family dinners.
· I consider myself blessed to be able to work alongside my husband in youth ministry. I love watching him do what he is passionate about and I love being a part of his work with teenagers in our church and community.
· I always knew I wanted to be a mom. I went to teachers college, love to teach, and will one day return to the classroom, but I am truly fulfilled staying at home with my son and I would not trade it for anything.
· I am a chocolate snob. I grew up in Cambridge, Ontario, home of a chocolate shop called Reid’s Candy. They make the most divine chocolate on the planet. Nothing else compares.
· I am a home body. There is nothing like curling up to watch a movie in my P.J.’s with a cup of tea.
· I love the way a song can take you back to a place so quickly.
I think that’s it for now. Let me know if I missed something!
